Ticket Terms and Conditions (these “Terms”)

1. Organiser and Venue
1.1 The Global Bushcraft Symposium 2022 (the “GBS”) has been organised by the Global Bushcraft Symposium UK Limited (hereinafter referred to as “GBSL”, “we” or “us”), a company incorporated in England and Wales with company registration number 12283200. Our registered office is at 20-22 Wenlock Road London, N1 7GU England. Our website is at www.globalbushcraftsymposium2022.com (the “Website”).

1.2 We will provide the GBS using reasonable care and skill.

1.3 We may appoint third parties (including independent sub-contractors and/or volunteers) to run, assist with, arrange and/or supply certain aspects of the GBS. You agree that our obligation to you is to use reasonable care in selecting competent third parties to provide reasonable services related to the GBS. You agree that GBSL is not responsible for the actions or omissions of such third parties.

1.4 The GBS will be held at Gwersyll Yr Urdd Glan-llyn, Llanuwchllyn, Bala, LL23 7ST, United Kingdom (the “Centre”). Gwersyll yr Urdd Glan-llyn is a residential outdoor centre owned and run by Urdd Gobaith Cymru, the main youth organisation in Wales.

2. Agreement
2.1 By purchasing a ticket to the GBS, you are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms.

2.2 If you are purchasing a ticket for and on behalf of any other person, you will ensure that the recipient is aware of these Terms and notify them that by attending the GBS, they will be deemed to have agreed to abide by these Terms.

2.3 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us. You acknowledge that you have not relied on any statement, promise or representation made or given by us or on our behalf which is not set out herein.

2.4 Failure to comply with these Terms will make your ticket void and you may be removed from the GBS (which may be against your will, if required). No refunds will be given in these circumstances.

2.5 Any queries regarding these Terms should be raised with GBSL prior to the purchase of tickets.

3. Purchasing a Ticket

3.1 Tickets may be purchased for either:
(a) entry to the GBS only; or
(b) entry to the GBS, together with accommodation at the Centre. Such accommodation will be in single sex shared accommodation (where you will likely be sharing with other delegates).

3.2 All tickets are payable in Pounds Sterling. The ticket prices are inclusive of any VAT.

3.3 Tickets must be purchased directly from GBSL via the Website. GBSL will not take responsibility for the validity of tickets purchased from other sources.

3.4 Payment will be accepted by: PayPal, credit card or debit card, which can be used to make a booking on-line.

3.5 Ticket pricing is subject to change at any time without notice and is only fixed at the time of your purchase. Any discounts or offers cannot be applied retrospectively.

3.6 You will receive a confirmation of your ticket purchase via email. Your booking confirmation will include the ticket price. Your confirmation must be presented upon entry to the GBS.

3.7 You must check the details on your confirmation when you receive it. If there are any errors, please contact us immediately at info@globalbushcraftsymposium2022.com. GBSL will not be responsible for any issues that occurred as result of your mistake.

3.8 Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged.

3.9 GBSL will not be responsible for any ticket that is lost, stolen or destroyed. Removing any part of, altering or defacing the ticket may invalidate your ticket.

3.10 GBSL will not be responsible where a ticket holder cannot attend the GBS for any reason beyond GBSL’s control.

3.11 Tickets are subject to availability.

3.12 Tickets may be restricted to a maximum number.

3.13 GBSL reserves the right to cancel and refund tickets purchased without prior notice.

3.14 Tickets will only be valid for the GBS being organised by GBSL in 2022 (including in the case of cancellation of the GBS). They will not be valid for any other global bushcraft symposium that may be organised in future.

4. Programme
4.1 GBSL reserves the right to make alterations to the advertised programme and guest speakers at any time and without advance notice.

4.2 No refunds or compensation will be given for changes to the advertised programme or guest speakers.

5. Accommodation

5.1 The accommodation at the Centre will comprise single sex shared accommodation (where you will likely be sharing with other delegates).

5.2 GBSL reserves the right to make alterations to the accommodation offered or stated on your ticket at any time and without advance notice.

6. Rescheduling or Cancellation of the GBS

6.1 In the unlikely event that the GBS needs to be rescheduled by GBSL, all tickets will be automatically transferred to the new date. If you are unable to attend the new date please contact us.

6.2 If the GBS is rescheduled and a refund is agreed, we will return the total value of your ticket, minus all or part of booking fees covering service costs and charges already incurred.

6.3 In the unlikely event that the GBS needs to be cancelled, we will return the total value of your order, minus all or part of booking fees covering service costs and charges already incurred.

6.4 GBSL is not liable for any personal travel, accommodation or hospitality arrangements made relating to the GBS or the rescheduling or cancellation of the GBS.

7. Your Attendance at the GBS

7.1 A valid ticket must be produced to enter the GBS. You must be able to produce your ticket upon request for inspection at any time. Failure to produce a valid ticket will result in you being denied entry to the GBS or may result in you being ejected from the GBS.

7.2 Proof of identity and concession entitlement (e.g. valid ID showing age and/or student status) may be required before admission into the GBS.

7.3 By attending the GBS, you consent to being photographed or filmed as an attendee and you consent to any resulting materials being used for commercial distribution, publication and communications (by GBSL or any of the GBS’s sponsors or commercial partners), without payment or copyright.

7.4 The unauthorised audio or video recording of presentations is prohibited. Audio and video recording equipment is not permitted in presentation areas. GBSL reserves the right to insist that such equipment is left outside the presentation areas. The unauthorised use of recording equipment (whether audio or visual) is prohibited. This includes video recording on mobile phones, laptops and tablets (as well as camera and video recording equipment).

7.5 The taking of still photographs is permitted in presentation areas.

7.6 GBSL reserves the right to refuse admission to and/or eject any person appearing to be intoxicated, under the influence of drugs, or otherwise behaving dangerously or inappropriately. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.

7.7 No illegal substances, legal highs, pyrotechnic articles, lasers, weapons or offensive items may be brought into the GBS.

7.8 To ensure safety, we may conduct security searches of clothing, bags and all other items on entry and exit and reserve the right to confiscate prohibited items or other items which may cause danger or disruption to the GBS or others.

7.9 You are responsible for your belongings when attending the GBS. The GBS accepts no responsibility for any personal property brought to the GBS.

7.10 Admission is not guaranteed for latecomers to a guest speaker’s presentation, although offered wherever possible.

7.11 Smoking is not permitted in enclosed pubic areas. Electronic cigarettes are also prohibited within these areas.

7.12 Mobile phones and pagers must be silenced before entering the guest speaking areas.

7.13 Events or some areas may be age restricted and it is the responsibility of the ticket holder to check before purchasing a ticket.

7.14 No animals are allowed at the GBS, with the exception of registered guide dogs.

7.15 Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. Age restrictions may vary for some themed camp workshops and should be checked prior to registering for a workshop.

7.16 You must conduct yourself in a reasonable manner at all times and maintain standards of conduct which are consistent with the aims of the GBS.

7.17 Parents, guardians, teachers and those in comparable roles in respect of minors must maintain control of those minors at all times, to the satisfaction of GBSL and ensure that they observe all rules and the reasonable instructions of our agents and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the aims of the GBS.

7.18 If, in the sole opinion of GBSL, your behaviour is deemed unsafe or unacceptable for whatever reason, you may, in the absolute discretion of GBSL, be refused entry to the GBS or be removed from the GBS (and, if necessary, this may be against your will). Circumstances in which this may occur include, without limitation, your intoxication; use of non-prescription drugs; disorderly, abusive or dangerous behaviour; intentional damage to property and failure of control over minors. In such circumstances, you will not be entitled to a refund and we will not be liable to pay any compensation or incidental costs or expenses that you may incur as a result of such removal or for any other loss or damage howsoever caused arising out of your removal. You will, on demand, reimburse us for our reasonable costs of effecting your removal.

7.19 Any terms and condition of the Centre must be complied with at all times.

7.20 Save as otherwise required by law, you attend the GBS at your own risk.

8. Complaints

8.1 If you have a complaint about the GBS, you must bring it to the attention of GBSL at the earliest appropriate opportunity in order that remedial action may, if appropriate, be taken.

8.2 You expressly acknowledge that it is unreasonable to take no action during the GBS but to complain later.

8.3 Any outstanding complaint not resolved during the GBS must be notified to us in writing within 15 days of the scheduled end of the GBS. To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable in respect of any claims/complaints raised later than 15 days from the end of the GBS.

9. Exclusions and Limitations of Our Liability

9.1 Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for:

(a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; or

(b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or

(c) any breach of the obligations implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 or section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982; or

(d) losses for which it is prohibited by section 7 of the Consumer Protection Act 1987 to limit liability; or

(e) any other matter for which it would be illegal or unlawful for us to exclude or attempt to exclude our liability.

8.2 Subject to clause 8.1:

(a) we shall not be liable to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, for any loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with the provision of, or failure to provide, the GBS; and

(b) our total liability to you in respect of all other losses arising out of or in connection with the provision of, or failure to provide, the GBS, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall not exceed the price paid by you for your ticket to the GBS.

8.3 Except as set out in these Terms, all warranties, conditions and other terms implied by statue or common law are, to the fullest extent permitted by law, excluded from these Terms.

8.4 This clause 8 shall survive termination of the agreement (constituted by these Terms) between us and the completion of the GBS.

9. Force Majeure
9.1 For the purposes of these Terms, a Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-occurrence, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes, without limitation, the following:
(a) strikes, lock-outs, boycott or other industrial action (whether involving our workforce or any other party);

(b) civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war;

(c) act of God (including, without limitation, fire, tempest, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, or other natural disaster);

(d) failure in the provision of any utility, including power, gas, water, or communication services;

(e) malicious damage or sabotage;

(f) compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation, sanction, embargo or direction;

(g) breakdown, cancellation or failure of machinery or transportation (including, without limitation railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport); or

(h) default of suppliers or subcontractors.

9.2 We will not be liable to you as a result of any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms as a result of a Force Majeure Event.
9.3 If the Force Majeure Event prevents us from commencing or completing the GBS as planned we shall, without limiting our other rights or remedies, in the sole discretion of GBSL either reschedule or cancel the GBS.

10. Variation of Terms

10.1 These Terms may be varied at any time, without notice. You will be subject to the Terms in force at the time that you purchase your ticket to the GBS (or if somebody has purchased your ticket for you, the date when you first attend the GBS).

11. Data Protection Policy

11.1 Personal information about you and members of your party, including your names, contact details and any special needs or disabilities is collected by us when you request information or purchase a ticket.

11.2 We may use your information for the purposes set out in our Privacy Policy.

11.3 You are responsible for ensuring that other members of your party are aware of these Terms and our Privacy Policy and that they consent to you acting as agent on their behalf in your dealings with us.

11.4 We may disclose your personal information to the Centre and to companies who act as data processors on our behalf. Some information, for example relating to your health, may be “sensitive personal data” within the meaning of the Data Protection Act 1998 (as amended from time to time). We need this information to cater for your needs, but it is collected on condition that we have your positive consent. If you do not agree to our use of your personal information, we cannot accept your ticket purchase.

11.5 You have the right to ask us in writing for a data subject access request form to obtain a copy of the personal information which we hold about you in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You will be charged a fee for this. Any request should be addressed to info@globalbushcraftsymposium2022.com.

11.6 Further details about how we we collect and use your personal information are set out in our Privacy Policy.

12. Severability of Terms

12.1 If any particular term or condition shall be held void or unenforceable in whole or part by any court or other competent authority, the remaining terms and conditions, and the remainder of the term or condition affected, shall remain in full force and effect.

13. Construction of Certain References
13.1 In these Terms, the following rules apply:
(a) a person includes a natural person, corporate or unincorporated body (whether or not having separate legal personality);

(b) a reference to a person includes its personal representatives, successors or permitted assigns;

(c) a reference to a statute or statutory provision (i) is a reference to such statute or statutory provision as amended or re-enacted from time to time and (ii) includes any subordinate legislation made under that statue or statutory provision, as amended or re-enacted from time to time;

(d) any phrase introduced by the terms including, include, in particular or any similar expression, shall be construed as illustrative and shall not limit the sense of the words preceding those terms; and

(e) a reference to writing or written includes e-mails.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

14.1 These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and each party agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
